Visitor Visa

New Zealand is a beautiful destination for holidays. Whether you intend to visit your family and friends, or travel for business purpose, visitor visa is the visa for you.

If you are from a visa waiver country, you do not need to apply for a visitor visa. You can visit New Zealand as a tourist for 3 months (or 6 months if you are a British citizen) without needing a visitor visa.

However, you still need to request for a NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) before you travel.

In order to apply for a visitor visa, you must be able to provide evidence of being able to financially support yourself during your stay either through sponsorship from a NZ Citizen/ Resident or through your own financials. It is not necessary to provide sponsorship only. Contact your adviser at NZ Immigration Solutions to understand how much funds you need to show Immigration according to your intended length of stay.

You must also be able to provide evidence of strong incentives/ commitments to your home country to justify your reasoning for returning to your home country upon the expiry of your visitor visa. It is illegal to continue to stay in New Zealand after your visitor visa has expired, and terms you as being an unlawful immigrant. If you wish to extend your stay, seek advice on whether you meet all the requirements of extending your stay and apply for an extension.

On a visitor visa, you can study for 3 months in a 12-month period, however you CANNOT work on a visitor visa.
